Cromaine Library

“A good book is the best friend”   -Hartland Area Project slogan

In 1927, John Robert Crouse, Sr. and his uncle, Henry A. Tremaine, added to an earlier bequest made by John Bernard Crouse and built the Cromaine Library and presented it to the Hartland Consolidated School District. It was Crouse’s hope that the love of books and reading could be instilled in the hearts and minds of all the children in the Hartland Area.
